Eureka!

Usually that word is used for a discovery of tangible sorts... I have just made a psychoanalytical discovery that has pieced together the varying definitions of me!

My strange cooking goal is life has been to never make the same thing twice, minus exceptions of our favorite dishes, the easiest meals, and classics.

When I was in the hospital, I couldn't taste anything. The chicken, steak, pizza, shrimp, and refried beans all had the same flavor. Different texture, same flavor. Same with sodas and fruits and veggies and sweets. My life (or tongue specifically) was bland.

Since recovery, I have discovered new flavors (that I had obviously had before!) and combinations and types of food. My love for their flavors has shaped my goal to taste them all at least once! And my fear of reverting to the no-taste-zone has forced me to collaborate creativity and culinary creations!

So, normally dinner at my house is exciting and daring! (But I'm stuck in this food rut again, I can't figure out anything that sounds good to make!)

  1. Hey CrazyDaisy - I just jumped to your blog from SCL because I saw that you went to SBU. It was certainly the place for ladies to get their M.R.S. degree when I was there! Small world. God bless and happy blogging!

  2. But you didn't get your MRS degree there...did you? Anyway...I have a site for you - might be too boring, but I am never disappointed when I try their recipes: kraftfoods.com

    Enjoy!

  3. hey there!

i just started reading your blog, so i don't know too much of what you've tried yet, but if you need to shake things up i would look through some vegetarian or vegan cookbooks. im in no way trying to convert you, but those recipes often make you push yourself to use different ingredients or use common ingredients in different ways!
